Cursive tattoo lettering is a flowing, connected script — rounded, personal, and the most-asked-for style for names and short phrases. It reads as one continuous line, which makes it feel handwritten rather than typeset.
Names, dates, and short phrases read best — the connected strokes keep them legible at arm's length. Forearm and ribcage placements suit the long flowing lines; very small spots call for simplified scripts with fewer joins.
Compared with calligraphy lettering, cursive is lighter and more casual — calligraphy adds formal weighted strokes and flourishes. Against fine line lettering, cursive keeps connected flow where fine line is thin, minimal, and unconnected.
The preview above is a font rendering, not a stencil file — that's true for every generator. Bring a transparent PNG or a screenshot of 2–3 styles you like; your artist redraws the lettering at true size before stenciling.
